Mini Change Purse was made from this bundle of fat quarters purchased from Amazon.  They are quite handy for a project of this size.   The idea of making the bag came from, after seeing this pattern herewith while browsing at Aliexpress.   I drew the pattern on a piece of paper and cut it out onto the fabric and then sewed it similar to patterns instructions received off of bag patterns which I have in the past purchased like from McCalls and Company.  It was an interesting task of experience because I don't usually function in sewing this way.  I usually purchase a pattern and cut it out on the fabric and follow the instructions.

I used my Sewing Machine and Serger to make this purse.
Tools used to draw the pattern was a Staedtler Geometry Set I came across which I purchased for my kids while in Primary or Secondary school. (photo within post below)

Elna Elnita ES4

My first Serger and first time ever using one, after wanting one since about 1976.  I finally got one which is probably a beginners one that I am using already without zigzags to finish of seams.

Works wonderful!

Highly recommend for home sewing.  Reasonably priced for home sewing as well.

Recently used the Elna Serger on these projects since purchasing.

Apron Sewing Project

A P R O N
An Adjustable Apron

Apron  (Adjustable Apron)

The following was utilized to make this Apron.

McCalls "It's Sew Simple" Style L9440 - Instructions within pattern. (Walmart)

Fabric - Waverly 1 Yard Packages (Walmart)

Thread - Coats and Clarks (Walmart)

Serger Thread - Mandala Serger Thread (Amazon)

Notions:  Scissors, Pinking Shears, Seam Ripper, Tape Measure, Pins, etc.

Basic Sewing Machine (Euro Pro)

Basic Serger Machine (Elna - Elnita)

Iron and Ironing Board

This apron is a good project to do for warming up and refreshing your experiences in sewing if you have not been sewing for awhile and a bit dormant.  An apron was one of the first projects while doing sewing within my Secondary School Education at Sandys Secondary while in the Cookery and Sewing Classes held there before doing the Commercial Secretarial Classes.  An apron covers some of those basic sewing skills needed to carry you through to advance sewing or more complex sewing skill.

This McCall's pattern has a casing which is great for this pattern because it allows adjustments on the neck as well as accommodating the waist to fit the person wearing it suitable to them.

Some of the basic sewing skills that were done in this apron project like:-

> Choosing fabric, pattern, interfacing notions etc.
> Pattern assembling and cutting
> Threading the machine and bobbin
> Doing seams, hemming, corners etc.
> Ironing or pressing
> Tape measuring, rulers etc.
> Tracing chalk, basting etc.
> Sergering for seam finishing
Etc.
